Coral Lipstick to Coral Blush

When I find something that I like, I kind of let it takeover my world, check out my obsurd collection of chiffon tops. So with it being summer and having a sunkissed glow it was no surprise that I hopped on board of the coral train. Ive got coral jewelry, coral makeup, coral shoes, coral shorts, dresses, bathing suits and nailpolish. The one thing I didnt have, however, was a great coral blush. Well I had quite the fortunate event happen last week. I was sitting in my living room and in walks my 2 year old daughter covered in mommys makeup. Instead of being mad that she used my good stuff, I was thrilled. Her cheeks (okay her whole body) was the most amazing coral shade, so I went to the bathroom to hunt down this lipstick. The color she used was Crosswires by MAC, and it is now my go to for a nice coral cheek.

When applying I just use a stipple brush and swipe across the top of the lipstick and then apply to the tops of my cheekbones in a circular motion. I hope you enjoy this handy trick!

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, one of my favorite things! This concealer is so moisturizing it will never pull on delicate skin. I sometimes like to forgo foundation all together and use this product placed strategically in a few areas and POOF! Instantly, you’ll be able to fool people into thinking that you actually got 8 hours of beauty sleep…. instead of working, doing the laundry, cleaning the dishes, watching the Real Housewives marathon! Enjoy!

DIY Makeup remover cloths

To say we use makeup remover cloths daily would be an understatement. When we have 6 weddings a weekend we can go through a lot of these bad boys, which means more money we have to spend on them. I personally like to use them to get off tricky eye makeup and in the mornings to get off the extra oil and grime that may have developed throughout the night.

So after searching to find a way to make them yourself I came across one that works great on the blog whitehouseblackshutters.com

With our own Rachel’s wedding coming up just around the corner…and her hair and makeup consultation tomorrow my inspiration this month is our inspiration for her wedding day makeup. I’m in love with Giuliana Rancic, and have always loved the way Giuliana’s makeup artist does her makeup. Very sexy and smokey- she really knows how to make her eyes pop! Here are some examples that would be perfect for a wedding!! Enjoy!

Inspiration : The Perfect Rehearsal Look

So my lovely bride-to-be’s, Im right there with you in all this wedding planning since mine is less than a month away! One thing that completly slipped my mind (okay one of many things) is how Im going to do my hair and makeup for my rehearsal. I was on pinterest and came across this picture of Annalynne Mccord and fell in love. Im a huge fan of the nude lip but usually play my eyes up quite a bit, especially for an event, but this balances everything so perfectly with the drama still being there with the cat eye. This hair and makeup with my new Jessica Simpson dress and Im all set, now to find the perfect shoes!

xoxo

The clouds have parted and the angels are singing! Moroccan Oil is amazing!!! If you have uncontrollable frizzy hair like me, this is your remedy! All you need is a dime size amount. After showering, I let my hair dry about 30% and then apply the oil. It doesn’t make my hair heavy like most frizz control serums and most importantly, it works! You can get this at most salons near you or if you’re trying to save you moo-lah, they have the Organix Moroccan Oil line at Walgreens!

Naturally, I am a big supporter of bridesmaids having a totally different look than the bride. As far as hairstyles go, the last thing you want is a bridesmaid have the same or more elegant style or updo than you on your big day!
Every bride is different as to how they want their bridesmaids to look. Some prefer all of their bridesmaids to look the same. Some, want them all to show off their own unique style and personality. Some, no preference at all, but there’s always the bridesmaids that can’t (or won’t!) make up their minds about what they want (making it too much about them and not YOU!).
So, a good compromise is this, pick something that you don’t have incorporated in your style (whether that be a braid, bun, up or down, however). Incorporate it someway in their look, then let them put their own spin on it. Now they are all uniformed and you look like the star of the show, as you should be.
Remember, it’s your day. If you don’t take control it could get out of control.

How To Get the Best out of your airbrush Tan
So many of our clients have come to us about prior spray tans they’ve recieved and now deem “horrorific”. Ive come to clear the air of all the bad talk about spray tans and educate YOU on how to avoid having a spray tan disaster.

Exfoliate and shave 2 days before getting your spray tan
Allow 8-12 hours before showering, swimming, or anything that involves water to allow your tan proper time to develop
MOISTURIZE!!!!! perfect time is when you first get out of the shower, this will slow the exfoliation and drying of your skin and you can avoid that reptile look
When showering aim for liquid soap instead of bar soap
If you do get some spots that maybe got hit to heavily then just go over those with lemon juice to get rid of it
This is not in lieu of sunscreen so please apply!
Enjoy Ladies :)

The cure to southern humidity! These little wipes are my new love. Who likes to spend an hour getting ready just to walk out side and your makeup sweats off and your hair goes flat? Nobody- that’s who! You’ll have to stay tuned to find out about the hair- but I have the sweat issue fix right here! MED e TATE wipes from DERMAdoctor. I use these guys on my brides in the hot summer months or if my client gets shinny. The MED e TATE wipes can be alittle intense at first so I’ll warn you- use sparingly! They make the skin pretty tight at first swipe but after a little bit everything is just fine. There’s always a price though- and these magic wipes will cost you a pretty penny, but if your anything like me, it’s totally worth it to keep you looking perfect all night!
